RVA Student Award

scholar

The Richmond Village Association will award up to two (2) $500 awards for grade 12 students currently attending high school who reside in Richmond.  These students may attend either South Carleton High School or Sacred Heart High School.  The awards will be given to one male and one female student as nominated by their principal or teacher(s) and selected by the Directors of the Richmond Village Association.

The purpose of this award is to reduce financial barriers to achieving success for students who plan to pursue his or her post-secondary studies at a community college.

The recipients will be nominated by a teacher or principal based on the following criteria:

Community Involvement:  The recipients have shown genuine interest in and respect for the Village of Richmond.  The recipients must reside in Richmond.

College Applicant:  The recipients have applied to and plan to attend a community college in the 2014-2015 academic year.

Financial Need:  The recipients are known by staff to be experiencing a degree of financial need.

No application is necessary.  We expect to receive nominations by June 1st, 2014 so that we can prepare the award for graduation.
